Police Searching for Bank Robber

A man robbed two TD banks in the area.

Nassau County Police are looking for a man who robbed two banks in the area on Tuesday in Franklin Square and Floral Park.

The first robbery happened at 1:35 p.m. when a man entered the TD Bank at 690 Hempstead Turnpike in Franklin Square and made demands to the bank teller, according to a police report. The robber ran after getting an undetermined amount of money; 10 employees and nine customers were in the bank during the robbery.

The second robbery occurred shortly thereafter at 2 p.m. at the TD at 372 Jericho Turnpike, again demanding money of the teller and then leaving westbound on Jericho Turnpike and then south of Linden Avenue, the report said. During this robbery, nine employees and two customers were present.

The robber is described as about 30-years-old, black, about five feet 11 inches tall and he was wearing a red and white striped shirt, dark shorts and a gray hat.
