Police Seeking Man Who Tried to Rob Garden City Park Gas Station

Suspect described as black male, 23 to 28 years of age, 6' tall, 150 lbs.

Nassau County Police are searching for a suspect who attempted to rob the Gulf Gas Station in Garden City Park early Thursday morning.

According to detectives, the attempted robbery that occurred on Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013 at 12:25 a.m. when an unknown male black subject entered the station at 2399 Jericho Turnpike and attempted to make a purchase with a credit card.

After the card was declined twice the defendant went behind the counter and grabbed the 55 year old male store employee by the neck.

When the subject demanded money the victim activated an alarm and the subject fled on foot in an unknown direction.

No injuries were reported and there were no proceeds taken. The subject is further described as 23 to 28 years of age, 6’ tall, 150 lbs., wearing a black jacket and black pants.
