NHP Fire Chief: Relief and Pain after bin Laden's Death

New Hyde Park Fire Department lost two former firefighters during the attacks on 9/11.

thinks will probably "bring some sense some relief to a lot of family and friends" of those who passed away on 9/11.

He added that though there will probably be a little bit of closure, "the pain will still be there."

On 9/11, the New Hyde Park Fire Department sent a ladder truck that was in Ridgewood for about 24 hours and they sent a heavy rescue team into Manhattan, Willers noted. Two former members of the department perished as a result of the attack: Michael Montesi of FDNY's Rescue One and Kenneth Kumpel of Ladder 25, Willers said.

Willers urged people not to completely let down their guard despite bin Laden's death as terrorism has been around for many years.
