There have been several incidences of theft at the New Hyde Park since the start of 2011. Items randing from an iPod to cash to cell phones have been reportedly taken according to police reports.
A report from the precinct notes that approximately $54,000 in property and 42 credit cards have been reported as stolen since the start of this year.
