Taxi Driver Robbed in New Hyde Park

Three men reportedly took driver's cell phone, wallet and car keys near Primrose Drive.

Nassau County Police are investigating a robbery of a 57-year old male taxi driver that occurred on Wednesday, Oct. 30 at 11:30 p.m. in New Hyde Park.

According to detectives, the driver was dispatched in his taxi to pick up three male passengers in Jamaicam Queens. The suspects directed the driver to the vicinity of Primrose Drive.

When the driver pulled the taxi over, one of the suspects, who is described as a Hispanic male, grabbed the driver around his neck, while the second subject, a black man, produced a knife while the third suspect, a Middle Eastern man, reached over an took the victim’s cell phone, wallet and car keys. All three subjects fled on foot eastbound on Primrose Drive. There were no injuries reported.
