Two People Punched, Robbed Early Friday Near New Hyde Park LIRR Station

Group of five men and one woman robbed and punched 25-year old male and female.

Nassau County Police are investigating a robbery and assault on two 25-year olds that occurred early Friday morning near the New Hyde Park LIRR station.

According to detectives, at 3:55 a.m. on Nov. 1, after exiting a LIRR train from and walking towards the taxi cab stand at South 12th Street, two 25 year old victims, male and female, were followed by a group made up of five white men and one white woman who began to verbally insult the victims.

After threatening to call the police, the male suspects began punching the male victim in the head, grabbed his iPhone and threw it onto a nearby rooftop. During this time the female subject was also punching the female victim about the head.

All six suspects then ran off on Millers Lane and were observed entering a black SUV which fled the scene.

Both victims refused medical attention and could only describe one of the male subjects as being 5’6 to 5’8 tall wearing a costume that consisted of white and black striped shorts and an orange “afro” style wig.
