: A man crossing Jericho Turnpike was struck and killed by a car. The busy road was closed for hours by the accident investigation, but reported no criminality was suspected.

: Five cars were involved in an accident that left two people being treated for minor injuries on Jericho Turnpike. The five cars were involved in an accident that was a chain of events and both the and fire departments responded to this incident.

: In honor of the seventh annual Wounded Warriors Fundraiser, the New Hyde Park community came out to the on Veterans Day to celebrate. Local merchants donated to the cause and the Chamber of Commerce also provided its own donation of $500.

: Devane was seriously injured on Feb. 4 while helping to put out a fire in a basement on  in New Hyde Park. On May 2, the block of the firehouse was closed off and people enjoyed food, drink and raffles to help one of their volunteer firefighters.

: No injuries were reported in what may have been two separate car accidents that were diagonal to each other on Jericho Turnpike and Nassau Boulevard. Two Nassau County police officers were on the scene as was a  ambulance and personnel.

: Members of the responded to the scene of a rammed car in front of the fast-food restaurant. The elderly driver confused the gas and brake pedals, and no injuries were reported.

: A person crashed into a utility pole on the corner of Covert Avenue and Sixth Avenue and had to be extricated from the car. The cause of the crash was unknown.

: People from the Bellerose Terrace, Floral Park, Garden City Park, New Hyde Park, Mineola, Meacham Avenue, Franklin Square, Carle Place and Manhasset-Lakeville fire departments responded to the fire at 701 6th Avenue in New Hyde Park. The Arson Bomb Squad detectives reported that the fire seemed to have started in the basement of the home. The male homeowner and female home health aide were home at the time and both got out of the house without getting hurt.

: In February, firefighters were working on putting out a fire on 526 Seventh Ave. when they found the body of a 79-year-old man whose identity wasn’t released, according to a report from the . Additionally, two firefighters had minor injuries and were taken to local hospitals.

: The Manhasset-Lakeville Fire Department responded to the commercial dryer fire. There were no injuries as a result of this fire and within 45 minutes after using several fire extinguishers and a "booster" hose line, the fire was put out.
