Dec.27: Garbage Pickup and a Teen Party

1. Garbage pickup for the entire village, and newspapers for the north side, will resume Tuesday.

2. The 's planning committee meets at 6 p.m. at the New Hyde Park Village Hall Board Room. The museum invites residents to send in some family photos and it will link to some of the interviews of the family's history.

3. Parents are looking for ways to entertain the kids and the kids are looking to escape the house. Here's one possibility: The is hosting a Rock in the New Year party at 5:30 p.m. Music from DJ Chris, games, pizza, snacks & other fun, for students from grades 6 to 12.

4. The Kwanzaa celebration continues today at 1 p.m. at the Long Island Children's Museum.
