Kaiman Wins North Hempstead Supervisor Race

Jon Kaiman earns 53 percent of the vote to remain Town Supervisor.

has been re-elected to another term as  Supervisor early Wednesday.

According to the Nassau County Board of Elections, Kaiman, D-Great Neck, received 53 percent of the vote to edge , R-Albertson, 18,941 votes to 16,719.

Kaiman has been Supervisor since 2004 and has been part of programs such as and 311.

In an acceptance speech, Kaiman noted that the Town officials took the high road when it came to the campaign and noted that issues were distorted by the other side.

Tu conceeded, but not without firing a few shots.

"We pushed the button on every issue and I really believe that we really became the voice of a lot of communities in North Hempstead," Tu said. "I’m very proud of everything we’ve done, all of the entire team of people that have helped us really fight for the issues and I know we have the right issues. We were right on everything that we talked about from the taxes to the building department to the local issues like Harbor Homes and we fought with the residents. But you know what? We’re fighting against a machine; a very, very, very big machine that’s very well financed."
