Christian Engel successfully ran unopposed Tuesday night, securing his fourth term as Garden City Park Fire and Water District Commissioner
Engel had 82 votes cast in his favor at the polls and there were no write-in candidates.
In light of running unopposed he noted it was a good reaffirmation of his ability in the position, saying “the guys think you are doing a good enough job, that’s what I attest it to.”
Engel was enthusiastic about his fourth term and continually acting in everyone’s best interest.
“I’m looking forward to doing the right thing by the community, the employees, the water and do the right thing by the fire department also,” he said.
Engel also emphasized the group effort from all the commissioners on the board.
“It’s not just me, there’s three of us and it’s a team effort. We all work together.”
Engel said that wants to continue that team environment and his support of the fire department, the race team and the water district. Engle, a town resident, has three children and three grandchildren.
