Jericho Turnpike Construction to Begin in Fall

Traffic signals will be changed in this first part of the project.

The New York State Department of Transportation will begin construction on Jericho Turnpike sometime this fall; Trustee Donald Barbieri estimated that work will start in October or November.

During this first phase of the construction, traffic signals on Jericho Turnpike will be altered. At all the crossways, countdown devices that let people know how long they have to safely cross the street will be installed, Barbieri said at Tuesday night's Village board meeting. He added that the traffic signals at North 10th Street and North 6th Street will be removed during this time.
