Jericho Turnpike Project Keeps Moving

Work can begin this spring if everything goes as planned.

The project along Jericho Turnpike is continuing to move after the New York State Department of Transportation made several comments about the Village of New Hyde Park's plan. The Village's landscaping architect recently finished addressing those comments.

Trustee Donald Barbieri said he anticipates announcing the engineers chosen for the project; these people were interviewed over the summer. There will be bulb outs as well as a countdown for walk signs in the project.

If everything moves as planned, the bid document will be prepared this winter and work will begin the following spring, Barbieri said.
