Lofaro and Coppola Win in New Hyde Park Village Election

There were 148 votes cast in the election and no write-ins.

Deputy Mayor Robert Lofaro and Trustee Richard Coppola Jr. have retained their respective titles in the New Hyde Park Village election.

Coppola received 125 votes, including 15 from absentee ballots. Lofaro received 123 votes, 17 of which were from absentee voters. There were 22 absentee ballots and 148 votes cast, said Dawn Doherty, who was in charge of the elections. Lofaro recalled that the last election he and Coppola in there were about 133 people who voted. Both candidates were running in this election and there were no write-ins.

In response to his win, Coppola said to voters, "Thanks for coming out." Lofaro added that he looks forward to "four more years of [people's] support."
