New Clinton G. Martin Chlorine Tanks Were 'A Wise Choice'

Installation of chlorine tanks for the pool and outstanding debt were addressed by the Town of North Hempstead at its latest meeting.

The investment for chlorine tanks in Clinton G. Martin pool was a wise choice, according to Supervisor Jon Kaiman. At the recent Town of North Hempstead board meeting a resolution acknowledging the use of the capital reserve for the installation of chlorine tanks for the pool was adopted. The chlorine tanks at Clinton G. Martin Park were part of a project that was completed in 2007. Kaiman said the contract amount for the tanks was $86,000.

“The Town of North Hempstead board members formally acknowledged this resolution that has been in the making for many years,” said Kaiman. “The Town will continue to pay for the land in which the pool rests on, including an outstanding debt that was owed to our district from the tenant, which amounts to $15,000.”

One of the capital project transactions for the Clinton G. Martin Park District includes the Town transferring $65,593 of capital to the Park District for payment for playground equipment, which was done on Dec. 20, 2010, according to the Kathleen H. Mitterway, the Town’s comptroller. Five years prior, on December 21, 2005, the Park District also paid $65,593 in expenses related to the playground equipment.
