New Hyde Park Names New Village Trustee

Donna Squicciarino tapped to fill remainder of Mayor Robert Lofaro's trustee term.

The New Hyde Park Village Board has named Donna Squicciarino as its newest trustee to fill the remainder of Mayor Robert Lofaro’s term as a trustee.

The decision was made during the April 22, meeting of the village board and announced via an e-mail sent from the village on April 25.

Lofaro had resigned from his position of trustee after he was elected as the new mayor of the village on March 19. His term currently has two years remaining.

Squicciarino, a CPA with experience in property taxes, accounting, finance and budgeting, has been a resident of the village for 16 years.

She has been employed for the past several years as the part-time District Treasurer for the Sewanhaka Central High School District and Mineola School District. Prior to her current roles, she worked for Fleet Securities and Price Waterhouse Coopers.  

Squicciarino and her husband Joe have two young children and are very active members of the Village community. The release distributed by the village stated that she “believes that the safety of our children, maintaining our suburban lifestyle and preserving our village community are extremely important.”
