The New Hyde Park Board at its regular meeting Tuesday night announced publicly for the first time their new Village Clerk/Treasurer.
Kate Hillmann, of Bellmore, replaces former Village Clerk/Treasurer for a two-year term ending on Mar. 31, 2013. She is getting a salary of $65,000 per year.
“Everybody is very inviting; it’s my second day and people have just helped me through everything and helped me get settled and acclimated and made me feel comfortable,” Hillmann said of her new coworkers.
The 28-year-old previously served as the Deputy Clerk of Williston Park for three years before hearing about the New Hyde Park position through word of mouth.
The board happily welcomed Hillmann and Mayor Daniel Petruccio said, “We are thrilled to have her on the team and she joins a great team that we presently have and we’re looking forward to a bright future.”
