While and Councilman Tom Dwyer were at the , Village Mayor Daniel Petruccio and Deputy Mayor Robert Lofaro discussed the and their residents' feelings about it.
Petruccio and Lofaro conveyed that people in the Village that both have spoken to do not seem to be in favor of this purchase. Kaiman noted that this purchase will not cost any money, which was met with some skepticism, Lofaro noted after the Village board meeting Tuesday night.
"I have not met a person in New Hyde Park who thought eminent domain was a good idea," Lofaro said after Tuesday night's board meeting.
There is currently a petition circulating around against the purchase of the Roslyn Country Club.
