2012 Budget 

The town recently passed its budget for the 2012 fiscal year. The $108.3 million budget exceeds the state-mandated tax levy increase of 2 percent. For full details on the budget .

Winter Wonderland at Clark Botanic Garden

Clark Botanical Garden will be transformed into a Winter Wonderland the weekend of December 10-11. Model trains, cookie decorating, nature crafts and more will welcome visitors. Admission to Winter Wonderland is free. Call 311 for the latest updates and hours of operation.

Sock Drive

The  will be collecting socks and personal care items for people in need this holiday season. Receptacles will be placed in a number of Town departments and facilities. This program has been organized by North Hempstead’s Project Independence. All donations will go to local shelters and soup kitchens with the help of the Interfaith Nutrition Network.

Food to Feed Program

Town of North Hempstead recently initiated the "Food to Feed” Snack Wrap Program. The program fights against hunger by placing sports themed receptacles in every school cafeteria, giving students the opportunity to donate unwanted, unopened healthy snacks. The donations are distributed to local food banks and agencies throughout North Hempstead.

The next meeting of the North Hempstead Town Hall will be on December 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the town hall.
