'Old Glory's' Special Day

Americans celebrate Flag Day on June 14.

Much like the dynamic nation it has flown over, The American Flag has changed frequently throughout its history. In fact, it is actually designed to change and stay the same. Today is the day American celebrate the Stars and Stripes.

It's Flag Day, a date commemorating the adoption of the flag of the United States, which happened that day by resolution of the Second Continental Congress in 1777. Congress enacted National Flag Day in 1949. Citizens are urged to display The Stars and Stripes today.
