McCarthy to Host LI Health Career Expo

Dec.10 event will connect local job seekers with Long Island health care employers.

, D-Garden City, will host a career expo on Dec. 10 that will connect Long Island’s health care industry to local job seekers.

“While many sectors of the economy have suffered greatly during the recent economic turndown, many of the new jobs opening up on Long Island will be coming from the health care industry,”  McCarthy said in a recent press release. “My Health Care Career Expo will connect Long Island’s workforce to local health care employers and hopefully lead to fruitful results for both.”

According to the Long Island Association and the U.S. Department of Labor, over 14,000 jobs in the health care industry are expected to become available on Long Island between now and 2018. McCarthy wants to make sure that Long Island’s work force grabs those jobs.
