Step by Step Dance Studio to Move

The Step-by-Step dance studio is planning on moving locations but within New Hyde Park after finding that they have outgrown their space.

“We’re just relocating to a bigger spot,” Nicole Guerriero said during a special use hearing at the village hall on October 15. “It’s just a nicer spot and that’s why we’re moving.”

The dance studio is currently located at 613 Jericho Turnpike while the new space would be at 800B Jericho Turnpike. The dance studio had been at the location for the past 14 years.

Guerriero and fellow instructor Jennifer Larsen said that they teach students primarily between the ages of three to 20 years old. The school holds classes from September through June. Guerriero said that enrollment is not increasing in the school and that the instructional hours would be the same.

The studio would still consist of one room but the new location would feature a larger space and a reception space in the front.

“We’ll have an office’ that’s also what we need,” Larsen said.

At the time of the meeting there was no move-in date because they were waiting on the special use permit. The business also had an appearance before the zoning board regarding parking for the location.
