Village Board Pleased with Street Fair

The 16th annual street fair was a success.

The Village board of trustees commended all those who took part in the on Saturday at the Tuesday meeting.

"This was a very different street fair," said while commending for her work during the fair. He added that it seemed "transparent."

Lofaro also noted that the street fair seems to have become "that event" the children of the area look forward to.

"Some people have different feelings about the street fair, but I think it's such a great part of the community."

Along with thanking Bevers, Lofaro also thanked Tom Gannon of the building department and department of public works, the , the and all the community groups who were part of that day.

Early estimates from the Village say that between 22,000 and 25,000 people were at the street fair.

Jericho Turnpike was also re-opened in what Lofaro called "record time" at around 7:30 p.m.

"It was an overwhelming success as it has been in the past," Lofaro said.
