Village Notebook: Dec. 20

Here are the highlights from the meeting.

In case you missed Tuesday night’s , here are the highlights:

  • Trustee Richard Coppola reminded residents of fire safety this holiday season with the increase in candles and lights around the house. “Keep them separated when you go to sleep, blow the candles out and don’t leave extension cords underneath the carpet,” he said. 
  • Trustee Don Barbieri announced that the play production of “” was “spectacular” and three shows were sold out. “Many of the parents were speaking to me about how wonderful creating this opportunity for the local children was,” Barbieri said.
  • Barbieri also noted that the plans are set for the Jericho Turnpike project, Operation Mainstreet, and the board is awaiting an update and will announce that information at the next meeting.
  • Trustee Lawrence Montreuil said that roofing permits were up again — 72 for the Month of November compared to the in October.
  • The meeting ended rather shortly and was kept open while the board members convened across the hall to discuss Operation Mainstreet plans.
