Village of New Hyde Park Board Notebook: May 17

Here are some of the highlights of the meeting.

If you missed Tuesday's meeting, here are some of the highlights:

  • Trustee Richard Coppola reminded residents that the firefighters will be coming around for their annual drive.
  • The summer program will start on July 5 and end on August 4. Registration for this event will be on June 27 starting at 10 a.m. This program is free to New Hyde Park Village residents and non-residents pay $100.
  • On June 5 at 2 p.m., the Sister Act will be performing at the , said Trustee Donald Barbieri. He described the group as a pair of sisters who play some "contemporary numbers."
  • The plans for the Jericho Turnpike's street have been reviewed, Barbieri said. The Department of Transporation has issued several comments, he added. "The lion's share of them were nothing," Barbieri said. "Hopefully at the next meeting I can announce that we are really very, very close to the conclusion of this phase of that project."
  • The following people will be the summer employees for this year: Dina Nicastro, Megan McCullagh, Michael Ali, Megan Kennedy, John Kaeck and Timothy Brooks. The recreational assistants are: Christina Raguseo and Katelyn Sheridan.
