Center Street Students Hold Bully Prevention Workshop

Fourth graders take part in 'Steer Clear of Bullies' workshop presented by Child Abuse Prevention Services.

Due to October being National Bully Prevention month, the fourth graders at the Center Street School in Herricks took part in a two-session workshop entitled Steer Clear of Bullies, presented by Child Abuse Prevention Services an agency on long island committed to bully prevention programs.

In this workshop, the children discussed the importance of empathy. They roll played situations to practice becoming up standers and not bystanders. They saw a film that taught specific strategies on how to stand up to bullies.

All fourth graders fully participated and seem to enjoy this workshop.
