Necessities is a non-profit organization founded to help supply mastectomy patients with basic items that are “necessities” for recovering patients.

Herricks Social Worker Cheryl Finkelstein recently helped organize a comfort bag drive at the Denton Avenue School. Staff collected the necessary items and then met one afternoon to assemble the bags for distribution.

Together, the Denton faculty were able to make 30 comfort bags that will be delivered to patients in Nassau and Suffolk counties. Staff members wrote personal messages of support to accompany each bag.
