Explanation about Wendling's Role at Herricks

Residents ask questions and the district investigator and superintendent offer answers.

, who will be doing investigations about residency in the district, attended Thursday night's Herricks board of education meeting to answer some residents' questions about what his job entails.

"Everything got off to a great start," Wendling said of the start of the school year, adding, "I think we sent one over to Sewanhaka and they sent one over to us."

Superintendent Dr. John Bierwirth explained that Wendling can check the home because when people register, they sign a form that says the district is allowed to do so.

"Every tip we get, we follow up on," he said. Bierwirth added that anonymous tips are allowed.

Bierwirth also noted that the people who are fraudulently attending a Herricks school have someone in the district helping them.
