First grade students from the Manor Oaks School in the New Hyde Park-Garden City Park school district performed an original cantata by music teacher Sharon Pesenti, and based on ELA and Common Core titled, "Welcome to the Wonderland of Book."
Some of the songs included, "Can You Dig It?" and "Please Tell Me Where to Find a Book," encouraging students to read deeply into stories and educational texts.
Mrs. Pesenti "did a fabulous job with the students," a parent told Patch.
