Garden City Park School Musicians Play Holiday Concert at King Kullen

Elementary band and chorus holds fundraiser for cultural arts programs.

The students in the various Garden City Park School bands and choruses gave their annual Christmas concert this past Saturday afternoon at the Garden City Park King Kullen supermarket as a fundraising event for the school’s PTA and music department and food drive for the INN in Hempstead.

The musicians, who were set up in the produce department, consisted of the 4-6 orchestra, led by Steven Siracusa; the 5-6 chorus, led by Vincent Marquadt; and the 5-6 band, led by Stephanie Arciere.

Musical selections included Christmas stapes "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," "Jingle Bells," "Somewhere in My Memory" from the movie "Home Alone" and "It's Christmas Time."

Visitors could purchase raffle tickets for a flat-screen TV, gift baskets, or various other items.

The event typically raises anywhere from between $1,300-$1,400 each year and this is the third Christmas concert that the school has performed in the supermarket.
