The students in the various Garden City Park School bands and choruses gave their annual Christmas concert this past Saturday afternoon at the Garden City Park King Kullen supermarket as a fundraising event for the school’s PTA and music department and food drive for the INN in Hempstead.

The musicians, who were set up in the produce department, consisted of the 4-6 orchestra, led by Steven Siracusa; the 5-6 chorus, led by Vincent Marquadt; and the 5-6 band, led by Stephanie Arciere.

Musical selections included Christmas stapes "We Wish You a Merry Christmas," "Jingle Bells," "Somewhere in My Memory" from the movie "Home Alone" and "It's Christmas Time."

Visitors could purchase raffle tickets for a flat-screen TV, gift baskets, or various other items.

The event typically raises anywhere from between $1,300-$1,400 each year and this is the third Christmas concert that the school has performed in the supermarket.
