Helping Students Send Warm Wishes to Troops

Assemblyman Ra recently joined local students to craft thank you cards to troops serving overseas.

Assemblyman Edward P. Ra, R–21st Assembly District, recently joined seventh and eighth graders from and elementary students from Alden Terrace School to craft ‘thank you’ cards and warm wishes to troops serving overseas.

The cards, which will be distributed to troops in Kuwait, Afghanistan, Kyrgyzstan, United Arab Emirates, Germany and Djibouti, were part of an effort to promote patriotism in schools.

“Whenever possible it is important that we take a moment and thank our veterans and armed forces, especially those serving far from home,” Ra said in a statement. “It was a pleasure working with the students on this project, and we all hope the cards brighten the day for the men and women who are away from their families. I also want to extend my best wishes to all those serving around the world on our behalf and hope for their safe and speedy return home.”
