Herricks Board of Education Notebook: March 15

The Herricks Board of Education held a meeting on Thursday, March 15. Here are some of the things you may have missed.

Donations

The board accepted a gift of $5,000 from the Herricks Athletic Boosters group which will be used to buy a John Deere power rake.
Another gift of three SMART boards from SMART Technologies was accepted by the board.

Special Education Contracts

The Sid Jacobsend Jewish Community Center partnership that provides afterschool care for children for the 2012-2013 school year was approved.
The board approved special education contracts for the 2011-2012 school years with the Henry Viscardi school and Nassau Suffolk Services for Autism.

Other Board News

The scholarship dinner raised $12,400 and other contributions brought that number up to about $20,000.

The next meeting of the Herricks Board of Education will be held on Thursday, April 17 at 7:15 p.m. at the .
