Herricks Board President Appreciates Passage of 2012-13 Budget

Board President Christine Turner expressed her congratulations and appreciation.

Last Thursday night’s Herricks Board of Education meeting at the began with board president Christine Turner noting that the board was pleased about the .

“Obviously everyone’s very happy with the vote,” Turner said of the members of the board.

She also congratulated all of the community members who helped to spread the word and get the budget passed.

Turner noted that the Herricks School District seemed to discuss the 2 percent tax levy cap and its affect on the district sooner than some other surrounding districts, theorizing that perhaps that helped to get more people to approve the budget.

In addition to the budget passing recently, board members were voted onto the board.

Both trustee-elects attended the meeting and Turner said that they “have gotten their first packet.” At the July 2 meeting, Feinstein and Hassan will be sitting at the board table, replacing .
