Herricks Board Sets 2013-2014 Budget
School district finalizes budget for 2013-14 school year with 3.16 percent levy increase.
The Herricks Board of Education finalized its 2013-2014 school budget on Thursday night during its regular meeting at the community center.
The district’s budget breaks down in the following way:
- General support services: $10,754,451
- Instructional services: $60,307,987
- Pupil transportation services: $3,352,063
- Community services: $506,197
- Undistributed expenses: $29,478,675
- Total general fund appropriation: $104,399,373
The undistributed expenses include pension, health insurance and social security expenses, among other things.

The 2013-2014 budget represents a 2.98 percent budget-to-budget increase from last year. It is a 3.16 percent levy-to-levy increase from last year’s budget and under the state tax cap law.
