Herricks High School Holds Fourth Anual Jazz Festival

Saxophonist Dave Pietro joins Herricks students for annual festival.

On Saturday, April 13 Herricks High School hosted its 4th annual jazz festival. Each year bands from around Long Island perform in the Herricks High School auditorium for family, friends, peers, as well as receive a clinic from a renowned jazz musician and educator.

This year's clinician was saxophonist Dave Pietro, a New York City based musician who has performed with countless jazz luminaries all over the world. The day concluded with Mr. Pietro performing with the Herricks High School Blue Jazz band, under the direction of Geoffrey Taylor.

Most of the bands that performed have been to the festival all four years of its existence, and they all look forward to coming each year to hear one another and receive helpful instruction from the clinician.

The students and teachers are already looking forward to next year's festival.
