Herricks Middle School Library Has Grand Opening

The library offers new technology and traditional books.

Herricks Middle School students can now study and conduct research in style.

The newly updated middle school library opened on March 24, and was immediately put to good use. Classes came to the library to create an Ancient Roman newspaper and select new books, according to the district's website. Students used traditional books for research but were also encouraged to use the new technology to help them locate books through the use of the "Catalist Digital Audio" app and "Follett Enlight K-12" app.  Classes were also shown how to access the library databases with the district's new iPads.

The 21st Century learning was fun for students and teachers, school officials said. Students were engaged in the learning process with a variety of materials and were excited to add new technology into their learning.
