Kevin Yu, a junior at , provided the Herricks Board of Education with a little entertainment at the start of their regular meeting Thursday night at the .
Yu demonstrated his musical ability on a new Yamaha Electronic Keyboard, which was donated by the Herricks Music Boosters Association.
Yu has been a level 6 piano player since the sixth grade and was selected from the NYSSMA piano showcase twice – once when he was in eighth grade and again in in his sophomore year.
The intent behind the donation was to provide a portable keyboard, amplifier and carrying case that can be used at various district functions such as the middle school musical and other events where a keyboard is not available.
