Herricks Ninth Grade Musicians Play at Music In the Parks Competition

Herricks orchestra and concert band musicians travel to New Jersey for music festival and competition.

The Herricks High School ninth grade string orchestra and ninth grade concert band both received top honors on May 3 at the Music In The Parks music festival and competition. The event was hosted at Monroe High School in New Jersey and included over 30 other performing ensembles from the Tri-State area.

The adjudicators of the festival were impressed by the preparation and accomplishment of both ensembles under the direction of orchestra director Robin Maddox and concert band director Scott Stickley. Following the performance, Herricks students enjoyed a day at Six Flags Great Adventure theme park in TrentonNew Jersey.
