Herricks Notebook: Nov. 3

Here are some highlights from the meeting.

If you missed the Nov. 3  board of education notebook, here are some of the highlights other than the in-depth budget discussion:

  • Dr. Deidre Hayes, Assistant Superintendent of Schools, announced that the girl’s varsity cross country team won the Division 2A title and finished the season undefeated in their division.
  • Hayes also announced that Herricks was named, once again, the second annual AP achievement district honor roll in Newsday. “That is a very nice honor to receive from the AP,” Hayes said. “They honor districts that have shown success in their efforts to expand AP access, performance and commitment to increasing student achievement.”
  • also announced that in honor of last week’s National School Board week, a photo was chosen to be hung in the board room upstairs in the . This year the picture came from the middle school and was a picture of the middle school with the quote, “Wherever you go; go with all of your heart.”
