Herricks Revises 2013-14 Budget with New State Aid Figures

Board updates budget numbers to reflect updated state aid figures.

The Herricks School District has received additional state aid and funding from Assemblywoman Michelle Schimel, here is how the budget breaks down:

  • General support services: $10,754,451
  • Instructional services: $60,527,987
  • Pupil transportation services: $3,352,063
  • Community services: $506,197
  • Undistributed expenses: $29,478,675
  • Total general fund appropriation: $104,619,373

Superintendent Dr. John Bierwirth explained that this additional funding did not impact the tax levy.

The district will receive $703,324 in total additional state aid for 2013-14, an 8.45 percent increase over 2012-13. The total estimated amount of state aid for Herricks is $9,024,126. The district received $8,320,802 in aid for the 2012-13 school year.
