Herricks Students Participate in 2013 LISFA Chamber Music Festival

A total of 12 students perform in music festival.

Herricks High School and Middle School musicians participated in the Second Annual LISFA Chamber Music Festival on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013.

Each of the three Herricks groups prepared a piece from the chamber music repertoire in order to be accepted into this prestigious festival.

Krista Weis from Herricks Middle School and Robin Maddox from Herricks High School prepared these students for this event.

Musicians spent the entire day learning from expert coaches who are members of the Bryant Park Quartet, a sought-after professional quartet who perform in the NY Metro area. Students were coached by quartet members as well as a Nassau County music educators.

The day of chamber music culminated with performance of each participating ensemble with a finale by the Bryant Park Quartet in the Herricks High School Auditorium.
