Herricks Students’ Responsibility for Education ‘Impressive’

Superintendent Dr. John Bierwirth cites remarks he heard after visiting some colleges.

At the regular meeting of the Herricks Board of Education at the high school on January 10, superintendent Dr. John Bierwirth noted that as he and his colleagues recently met with college admissions directors, those same directors are very aware of Herricks students and consistently cite that Herricks graduates are good students who are very responsible for their education.

The superintendent stated that one thing the district was commended for is having students who are able to navigate things such as schedules and make educated selections for themselves.

“They gave a great deal of thought about what their education was about,” Dr. Bierwirth said of the students. “We make you make decisions and you're better off for it.”
