Jain Will Not Seek Re-Election to Herricks Board
Dr. Sanjay Jain will not be running for the board of education spot.
Herricks Board of Education member Dr. Sanjay Jain wil not be seeking re-election for the board, making the announcement during the April 4 meeting of the board at the community center.
He said that he hoped his presence on the board had some positive impact on the community and the district. He has spent the past four years as a trustee.
Dr. Jain said he was pleased to have a role where he “tried to make it easier to help those who light up the kids’ minds.”

Board President Christine Turner said that she appreciated Dr. Jain “always being honest” and giving his take on things.
Current board vice-president James Gounaris said that he has had a “fondness” that has grown for Dr. Jain and that “this is a tremendous loss for the whole district.”
