Kevin Dunn Drops Out of Herricks School Board Race

Former candidate makes announcement citing health concerns.

Kevin Dunn recently announced that due to health issues he cannot continue in the race for a position as a trustee on the Herricks Board of Education.

“I wish Nancy and Brian the best of luck with the challenges in the upcoming school year and to continue the educational opportunities for our children,” Dunn said in a statement read at the district’s meet the candidate night on Tuesday at the , citing health concerns as a primary reason for his decision.

Initially with Dunn in the race, there were three people vying for two trustee spots – those of . With Dunn leaving the race, only two candidates –  Brian Hassan and Nancy Feinstein – are running for these two spots.

Herricks Assistant Superintendent of Business Helen Costigan told the approximately 30 attendees at the meet the candidates night that because of the timing of Dunn’s departure, applications for the school board trustees have been extended through May 8 at 5 p.m.
