Manor Oaks Holds Spring Concert

The recent Manor Oaks Spring Concert delighted audiences of all ages.

The Fifth Grade Intermediate Chorus, directed by Mrs. Sharon Pesenti, sang a Scottish-themed ballad from the movie "Brave," with a lyrical violin obbligato by Ms. Mary Eileen McNamee. They also sang "Route 66," a jazz standard and ended with rousing performance of "Happy" by Pharrell Williams. The Sixth Grade Senior Xhorus sang a French Canadian folk song, "Simple Gifts," and a jazz standard, "Blue Skies".

The Fourth Grade Beginner Orchestra performed three selections: "Au Clair De La Lune", "Merry Go Round," and "Serenata." The Philharmonic Orchestra, composed of fifth and sixth grade students, performed music of three contrasting styles, "Canon" by Thomas Tallis, "Dance in D," and "The Spanish Dancer," led by Ms. Mary McNamee.

Ms. Carolyn Goodman directed the Band  and the Jazz Band. The Band performed "Gettysburg," "What Does the Fox Say" and "The Sound of Music." The Jazz Band  performed the "New York, New York," "Gonna Fly Now", "Theme from Rocky," "(Meet) the Flintstones" and "Livin La Vida Loca."
