Manor Oaks School Holds Second Annual Turkey Trot

New Hyde Park-Garden City Park students race and collect food for families in need.

A cold windy day did not stop the Manor Oaks students from running in the Second Annual Turkey Trot. Gym teacher Lisa Innella coordinated the fun event.

In order to take part in the run students were asked to bring in canned food. The food was donated to local families in need, so they can enjoy a Thanksgiving dinner. Some students dressed up as Pilgrims, Indians and even turkeys for the costume contest.

The costume contest winners were as follows: Kyle Borduas, Adrian Sikora, Brook Marek, Nandini Khaneja, Juliana Lupo, Sophia Vaglica, Logan Hargrove, Andrew Notine, Jessica Kerrane, Heather Acosta, Sam Giangrande, Isabella Prada, Christopher Rakamaric,Robin Aditya, Rhea Sakaria, Lauren Printa, Brianna Dunn, Amy Ugolini, Sydney Hargrove, Maria Ferrigno, Nicolette Caneda, Katie Grey, Michela Guira, Nick Levkulik.

The first and second grade race winners were as follows: Eliana Park, Alexa Giegle, Bridget Valdek, Gavin Coogan, Eamon Griffin, Nico Turrinovic, Alexandra Stec, Veronica Fulgeri, Helena Kamberis, Jordan Eisenberg,Ryan McPartland, Liam Booth.

The third and fourth grade race winners were as follows: Ava Frising, Morgan Oberwitter, Maegan Sheehan, Alan Sikora, Steven Coffey,Riley Griffin, Briana Dunn, Ava  Giangrande, Andrew Stein, Colin Coope, Brendan Cooper.

The fifth and sixth grade race winners were as follows: Claire O’Reagan, Sofia Quijada, Maria Poulos, Dean Caldwell, Luke Notine, Declan Griffin.

All the winners received a certificate and will participate in a special extra gym class.
