New Hyde Park and Herricks Schools Closed Due to Hurricane Sandy

School buildings closed Monday due to threat of storm.

Students from both New Hyde Park-Garden City Park School District and New Hyde Park Memorial High School in the Sewanhaka Central High School District will have a 3-day weekend after the looming threat of Hurricane Sandy shuttered the buildings for Monday, October 29.

The closings were announced on the Sewanhaka and New Hyde Park-Garden City Park school websites on Sunday.

Herricks schools will also be closed on Tuesday, October 30. The notice appeared on the Herricks school website on Sunday. The Herricks Elementary Parent Math Information Night scheduled for Tuesday night is cancelled and will be rescheduled shortly.
