New Hyde Park “Challenge” Team Moves Onto Second Round

Students from will face their next opponents on “The Challenge,” in a week-and-a-half.

The quiz show participants will take on in the second round of the high school trivia tournament, which will air on Sunday, March 11 at 6:30 p.m. on MSG Varsity, Cablevision channel 14.

The New Hyde Park Memorial team is represented by Jennifer Lee, Adam Priest, Parth Trivedi (Captain), David Indictor and Geoffrey Lin (alternate). The academic advisors are Christine Vosswinkel and Anna Caruso.

A total of 192 high schools will compete for the Tri-State crown on the show’s 15th season which kicked off November 6. In addition to teams from Nassau and Suffolk counties, schools from the Bronx, Brooklyn, Westchester/Lower Hudson Valley, New Jersey and Connecticut will be competing. This season, Long Island will be represented by 32 high schools from Nassau County and 32 high schools from Suffolk County.

Participating schools advance through a series of elimination rounds, with one school in each region being crowned regional champion and winning $2,500 for their school. The winning teams from each region go on to “The Challenge” Championship where they square off in a Tri-State Showdown. The school awarded the title of Tri-State Champion will receive $10,000 in prize money and each student participating in the final “Challenge” Championship game will receive $500.
