New Hyde Park 'Challenge' Watch 2011 – Second Round

The four-person quiz show team from New Hyde Park came up just short  last week, falling to South Side by a score of 285-275.

South Side struck fist in the “United Nations” and “Astronomy Relationships,” maintaining their advantage throughout the first round to end the multiple choice segment 140-120. The Gladiators got on the board by answering a question in the category “Binary Dates.”

New Hyde Park took “Missing Middle Initial” in the lightning round, going 8-2 while their opponents who got “National Leaders” with questions having to identify the country of the person, matched it to maintain their 20 point lead going into the break.

The Gladiators battled back from a deficit as deep as 30 points, pushing the gap to 10 and was in striking distance of tying the match with a “The Skeleton & Joints” category bonus question, but was not able to come up with the correct answer.

South Side would then answer two additional questions to end round three 250-230.

In the “Complete 180” round, New Hyde Park ran the table in the “Physics” category, answering questions correctly about Newton and Einstein for a total of 45 points, but ended up just 10 points short.
