New Hyde Park Senior Matthew Wins 2012 Shakespeare Monologue Competition
Senior Christie Mathew to next compete in New York State Shakespeare Monologue Competition.
recently held its annual Shakespeare Monologue Competition.
For this competition, students must memorize a Shakespearean monologue and recite it in front of a panel of judges. Out of over 40 students who participated, first place was awarded to senior Christie Mathew.
Second place was given to freshman Mathews Thankachan.

Third and fourth place winners were junior Michael Lopez and freshman Floril Thomas, respectively.
Mathew will now go on to compete in the New York State Shakespeare Monologue Competition, which will be held in New York City.
