NHP-GCP School Board Remembers Peg Fumante

The former board member passed away recently.

There was a moment of silence and some remembrances for former board member Peg Fumante who passed away on May 19 at the June 13 board of education meeting.

"She was a long-time board member here and a real community activist," said . "I might not have always agreed with her, but she made up for it in being spirited and I respected her opinion and most board members did... She will be missed."

After the meeting was over, board President Ernest Gentile recalled that Fumante was "very kind to us" and spent time with the then newer members of the board giving them advice.

Board member Joan Romagnoli added that Fumante was a "very strong lady" who was also reserved and proper.
